Introducing Dior’s Gravity Defying Oblique
With a storied history like Dior’s, looking to the past to inform the future is a given. Still, while Dior Men’s artistic director Kim Jones is no stranger to plucking from the archive for his critically acclaimed collections, he’s also a proven master when it comes to innovating. His latest triumph in savoir-faire excellence is a brand-new embossing technique that utilises gravity.
Seamlessly melding the past with the demands of the future, the newly unveiled Dior Gravity leather pays homage to tradition while pushing the boundaries of contemporary fashion. The collection of bags and shoes from Jones’ Fall 2024 collection is defined by a unique embossing technique that gently marks the leather.
Marrying tradition with modernity, the new collection of leather goods is imprinted with the maison's signature Oblique print with the novel technique. In two styles, a mini print for small leather goods and a maxi version for bags, the new accessories are rendered in a masculine grained leather in shades of beige, black and khaki.
Among the standout pieces are the messenger bags and the Weekender model, epitomising urban sophistication with their mesmerising graphics and impeccable construction. The collection's allure extends beyond accessories to encompass footwear, with the B33 and B27 sneakers embodying bold, modern, and elegant design elements that seamlessly integrate with the overarching aesthetic.
