We've managed to get through eight terribly chic looks today and we're behind schedule by just a whisker. Join us tomorrow for another exciting line-up.

You know the drill...

Marko Brozic looks ready to walk onto the set of a Visconti film with that string corset on. Alister makes sure the strings cascade suggestively over his sheer boxers so as not to give too much away.

While Dolly's dulcet tones fill the air, Sam and his assistant, Christian, slick Taylor's hair into a decadent side-parting. He looks quite the Bright Young Thing in those driving gloves and fur stole.

(We all highly recommend it)

The studio was beginning to resemble an opium den with the industrial heaters blazing their red glow into the infinity cove. To complete this picture, Sean is now sporting chapeau, black corset and cravatte and reclines languidly with fashionable insouciance.

In this scene, the light has to be perfect in order to lend a sense of drama. Simon and Ruth have set up the spotlights while Alister enhances the model's pose of artful dishevelment - notoriously difficult to get just right.

Most of the underwear that you see in the shoot are vintage pieces that have been re-worked by seamstress Morgan Hesmondhalgh. Sean, our model for the shoot's third instalment, has very kindly obliged to lift his shirt for us just so we can take a closer look: check out that... [more]

The bright white halo you see in this film is in fact model Marko's posterior - the team need to make sure there is enough light on it to catch all the beautiful pearl detailing on his undies.
By Andrew Gow, 15:54 Thu 31 May 2007
Before photographing Marko for the second shot, the team examines the test polaroids. From left Val Garland (make-up), Alister Mackie (stylist), Nick, David James (Art Director) and Marko (model).

Model Taylor Fuchs is now perched atop a table, giving us a flash of peach corsetry from under his 1940s style flannel trousers and mac. Watch as Nick and his two assistants Ruth and Simon feed darkslides into the back of the camera and stylist Alister Mackie makes finishing adjustments... [more]

No, not with Alister's rail, silly! Nick just finds men's underwear uninspiring in general; hence today's shoot. As he explains...

There is a chance that these Christopher Kane knickers will be appearing on a male model later (although it hasn't been confirmed quite yet). In fact there were a few racy ladies pieces in evidence in stylist Alister Mackie's corner, a tantalising suggestion of just what might be showing on... [more]

Nail technician Mike Pocock prepares model Marco's nails for the shoot. We don't know quite yet what the look is going to be so a buffer is being used to bring out a lovely shine. Watch and learn boys.

All the excitement generated by our current VOLTA downloadable poster has reignited Amylee Briggs' creative fire. She's in the process of downloading her VOLTA poster now but couldn't wait to show us one she did earlier. Back in 2004 we offered a similar downloadable poster to mark the launch of... [more]

Couture prowess was championed at CSM’s BA show last night in Bethnal Green as Jack Isenberg collected First Prize for his very un-London collection of fan-frilled, accordian pleat and rebato-neck gowns (sorry about the picture, must have stumbled into some harsh lighting). The rest of the show ran the gamut... [more]

When we say we'll be shooting live shorts on Thursday and Friday, think not of the filmic variety. For Nick has invited menswear stylist Alister Mackie to turn his thoughts towards men's underwear, which the pair will be photographing for Another Man magazine. Designers and niche seamstresses across London are... [more]

So called 'Wreakers of Civilization' Throbbing Gristle play tonight at 'the death factory', otherwise known as Tate Modern. Whether they will perform "nothing short of a total war on contemporary perceptions" as Jon Savage wrote of their 1970s legacy, to live up to this comment will be revealed in the... [more]

After months of deliberation and fashionable interruptions we have finally launched our new Forums.
This, the third incarnation of our Forums, is more an evolution of the previous version than a complete overhaul and has been specifically designed to deal with some of the user issues and teething problems we have... [more]

A tip for our London faithful: get yourselves down to Tate Britain to see the extensive and gripping How We Are: Photographing Britain show that opened last night. Taking on the rather thankless task of documenting all 168ish years of British photography, the exhibition's curators -the brilliant Val Williams and... [more]

Martin Creed invites you to consider some absurd slices of life and language in his current solo exhibition in Hauser & Wirth's large Coppermill space in east London. At the opening night he had a conductor conduct one literal 'slice' of an orchestra, cutting through the underwritten hierarchy and... [more]

Lukas Duwenhoegger's excellent proposal for a monument in Berlin to commemorate the homosexual victims of the holocaust was declined for such civic purpose. It is rumoured it may yet be realised in this year's Documenta, but failing that this sketch is on show at a gallery within a gallery show... [more]

The new Naomi pictures are now in our gallery! Last January, if you remember, Nick Knight shot Naomi Campbell for V magazine wearing some extravagant couture dresses that had appeared merely days before at the private defilés of Paris Couture Week. Tomorrow sees the release of V, in which a... [more]

No doubt you've got your copy of V and seen Naomi's splendid Couture spreads. What you didn't see on set in January, however, was La Campbell's impeccable TINA TURNER IMPRESSION, which the model was staging in the hair and make-up room upstairs (and neither did we because Sam McKnight was... [more]

For those partial to a spot of moonlit flânerie through London's Shoreditch, make sure to pass by Simon Foxton and Nick Griffith's new Skin installation on Curtain Road, a work of their &Son. collaboration. At London College of Fashion's ethical fashion debate last night, a panel of five, chaired by Clothes Show alum Caryn Franklin, weighed in on the dire impact of ‘fast fashion’ and pondered why celebrities weren’t doing enough to promote sustainable clothing.

Blow PR’s showroom is another of London’s favourite hangouts for a spot of shop talk. Michael, the PR in charge, is not far from your idea of the typical 1940s Hollywood agent. Sitting behind a desk facing-into-room, with spinning rolodex and a host of fashion acolytes bustling around him,... [more]
