FROM FASHION AND BACK New Hussein Chalayan interview and catwalk film

Our latest project is a simple showcase of a not-so-simple talent, celebrating the inspired vision of Hussein Chalayan, and the opening of his first sole UK exhibition at London's Design Museum earlier this month. Like the exhibition of the same name, From Fashion and Back focusses on Chalayan's unique talent and a timely celebration of his consistently challenging creativity. Featuring an exclusive interview with Chalayan, filmed at the opening of his Design Museum show and discussing the exhibition's aims, themes and intentions, this project also provides fitting occasion to frame Chalayan's much-acclaimed (and arguably slightly prophetic) 'Inertia' collection for Spring/Summer 2009.

Hussein Chalayan is amazing. And the exhibition does look so too. I love the idea of the manikins cleaning the window from inside to see the visitors better, lovely Greetings, Kathrin (www.twoforfashion.de)

The dresses that appear to be melting remind me of the effect that occurs in a 3D scan, much like the one's in Nick's project with Naomi.there is definitely a sense of inertia but not fast,it appears to be in slow motion, whether or not the models are static or moving.

very successful work.

Thank you, Chalayan

p.s.
the music in the show sounds like the work of Akira Yamaoka,so his music may be worth a listen for you.

I haven't had the chance to go yet, but i would be very interested to hear from anyone who has and who went to the VIktor and Rolf at the Barbican last year. I would love to know how they compare.
