LADY GAGA: SUBMIT New Lady Gaga collaboration!

You may remember those rumbling of a Lady Gaga collaboration on the blog last week - now, we can reveal our latest film project, a collaboration between Gaga, Nick Knight, fashion filmmaker Ruth Hogben and... you! Alongside Nick Knight and Ruth Hogben's own series of films created especially for the Monster Ball tour, Lady Gaga invites her fans to submit their own video-imagery to play alongside her spectacular live performances. The only brief is Lady Gaga's stark and simple inspiration: 'the Apocalypse' - your final film pieces will then be reworked by Knight and Hogben into filmic montages. Throughout the epic 44-date tour, this cinematic backdrop to Lady Gaga's live shows will be re-edited and re-engineered constantly as new submissions are received. Keep up-to-date with the blog for more details, and go here to submit your own entry.

your profile picture looks hot - is that you?

The Apocalypse, you just have to look at Oxford Street on a rainy Saturday before Christmas, we are already at the Apocalypse!
I would love to 'submit' for this too, but I don't have an artistic bone in whole body.
Lady Gaga is a hugely interesting artist, classically trained and a history of performance art, this should be a un-missable collaboration.
Is she this generations Madonna?
I do hope not as I can't stand Madonna, there has never been any art in what she has done just a hard and desperate determination to succeed- Lady Gaga is an altogether much more interesting and artistic prospect.
I will follow this with great enjoyment.

I wonder why the artist name " GAGA "? ... :):) but I like the idea that she doesn't seem to take herself too serious in the utterly superficial world of show business ..... but then so many of her detractors do seem to take everything she does on the stage far to serious .... now that would be rather beautiful! ...... the joke is on them :)... but then again that is my vivid imagination on the stage ... :)

GAGA has something to do with hypnotizing people and people being really dumb and stupid apparently.
I LOVE it. I think is very fashion.

Something can be really ugly, but the people we used to respect make us believe is good and we buy it. LOVE LOVE LOVE.

Any X-Factor fans in SHOWstudio? Would love to talk about it! Maybe I start a new topic.

By ClaireR at 11:15 Sat 14 Nov 2009 | reply to this >

that's a rather pessimistic view of fashion - and more than a little camp. After all, the quintessential camp phrase is "It's good BECAUSE it's awful." Not sure I agree with that when it comes to Lady Gaga. Interesting styling though.

Hi someone great - I love your screen name - I wasn't being pessimistic.
I LOVE fashion and LOVE Lady Gaga.

I think she is a bit ugly and has saggy breasts, but that's why I feel identified with her. Maybe if I meet the right people I can become a superstar like her as well.

I used to be a glamour model, now I want to start making fashion films and this is going to be my debut. A film for Lady Gaga's Tour.

LOVE

" The name GAGA is a tribute to Queen’s “Radio Ga Ga,” bestowed by her music producer, who goes by Dada " .... so much for WISHFUL THINKING ! : )

By Galileo's Universe at 15:36 Sun 15 Nov 2009 | reply to this >

Yes, I would love to make a film for this.
Maybe film myself for it. Naked.

I like Lady Gaga, because she is a bit ugly but seems quite intelligent and successful - mainly because she has a good body and her songs are very catchy.

Does anybody know about Haus of Gaga?
Does it have anything to do with the Bauhaus?

Claire you should go for it and make a film, it is nice to see that you are inspired by Lady GaGA, not that I'm a big fun of her but she is totally hilarious and why not with you in it NAKED ! Go for it ..... I don't think Lady GaGa is ugly just different and a good reason to celebrate that she is not artificially beautiful :)

No I've never heard of the House of GaGA unless you mean the house where she lives ... but I think I read somewhere about the ' Bauhaus' ... is that something to do with Animal Shelters ? :):):)

By Galileo's Universe at 12:33 Sun 15 Nov 2009 | reply to this >

Yes - I'm already working on it.

The House of Gaga is a collective who collaborate with Gaga on her clothing, stage sets, and sounds.

I'm going to start a collective called Hause of Claire to shoot my new fashion film for Lady Gaga.

If you want to be part of it let me know.
I'm looking for cool and edgy people who can really push the boundaries.

I don't know about the rest of the ' audience ' but with so many UNTALENTED ' CELEBRITIES ' around who have absolutely nothing to say or show for their 'IMPORTANT" celebrity status ... I think that at least Lady GAGA doesn't do so bad when it comes to having a talent ... her style and songs might not be the stuff legends are made of but I'm glad to see that she can sing live ... Now I second Elton John when it comes to Maddona, who wants to be tortured while listening to her great repertoire but absolutely without live singing TALENT? ... Just imagine her entertaining travellers in the metro with her ' naturally gifted' voice making us all feel happy with her singing:) !.... and as for Britney Spears ...well who wants to be reminded of such a sad and disparage CORPORATE show business disaster who can dance when she is fit and yet need to use playback aids and then have the nerve to charge people for having the ' privilege ' to let them hear her simply doing playback ? Now that is truly a CRUEL JOKE ....

PS: Maybe it is about time to start to reflect about the deplorable state of affairs when it comes to RECOGNISING TALENT! ... far to many totally uninteresting, untalented, uninspiring people have been ( literally ) POLLUTING the media and taken over the PODIUM that should rightly belong to those with REAL ARTISTIC TALENT!

great idea. and what is deadline?

By Denis Popenkov at 17:32 Mon 16 Nov 2009 | reply to this >

Hello Denis Popenkov,
the films that are submitted are going to be changed throughout the tour , so in theory you have until the last week of the tour to get yours in.
Look forward to seeing your film. Make it apocalyptic please, just miming to a Lady gaga song is unlikely to make the final grade, but you never know.
Good luck.
Nick

wow nearly 150 videos submitted already!
So the video backdrop to Lady Gaga's live performances will change as the tour goes on?

By Andrea G at 16:13 Tue 17 Nov 2009 | reply to this >

Hello Andrea,
yes exactly, Ruth and I hope to keep remixing this part of the show so that it is constantly evolving with the show.
Are you going to go and watch?
You know this is partly your doing????!

Hi Nick,

Sorry I did not reply I have been too busy watching Gareth live-love it, been watching him all day.

I cannot wait for the Lady Gaga videos-AMAZING! Ruth mentioned to me that she felt it was the best video she has ever done with you, so exciting!

I'm not sure about Partly my doing???!

By Andrea G at 15:07 Fri 20 Nov 2009 | reply to this >

Hi there,

I'm a student filmmaker and love Lady Gaga's music and artistic vision. I plan on submitting some video clips. I want to put something really nice together. I was planning on having it done by the first week of December. Whats the deadline?
Thanks
Percy

By Perseus at 17:56 Tue 17 Nov 2009 | reply to this >

Hello Perseus,
the first week of December will be fine. However you say that you want to put together "something really nice"! That doesn't sound really very apocalyptic. Think dark.
Good luck with it whatever it is,
best wishes,
Nick

THE FOUR HORSEMEN OF THE APOCALYPSE

PIC;REF> hemzoneundergroundhh.blogspot.com

I don't know but when I think of the word APOCALYPSE the first thing that comes to my mind is UNLEASHED, UNCONTROLLED ENERGY ready to 'flatten' everyone who happens to be in its way and yet many of the entries seem pretty mild so far... I miss that THUNDER, LIGHTNING , FIRE, FLOODS, FAMINE, OBLITERATION OF LIVING ENTITIES, TOTAL DESTRUCTION, and then ashes to give way to a 'new' beginning ... all pretty cliché certainly and yet how can it all be reinterpreted to successfully make it look 'fresh' and engaging visually ? ... story aside, I find the smashing the cats interesting but somehow cannot help feeling sorry for the poor, defenceless porcelain(?) "kittens" :) ... Why do they deserve to be smashed so metaphorically 'cruelly' ..... apart from just being one of the so many personifications of the word 'kitsch' ... now that could perhaps be a great literal instrumental though of the fun kind! :) ... in my opinion of no relevance :)

.. and 3/12 is an interesting attempt inspired by that iconic cinematographic image of a destructive, flaming Carrie suffused with animal blood! ....... then again Lady GAGA has already done something a bit similar but very different ....
