NEW: The Sounds of Light's Own Destruction

A new video by Nick Knight is launching today, commissioned by Alyx's Creative Director Matthew Williams for 032c. The video, titled The Sound of Light's Own Destruction features three different fireworks exploding inside a single plexiglass box.

The film challenges the notion of the firework as something celebratory, leaving us with a poignant comment on how destructive it can be to contain and suppress beauty. The mood of the piece reflects Knight's concerns about immigration, exile, social alienation, violence, crime, and repression, all of which are at the forefront of the artist's image making and social consciousness today.
