    Helen Bullock curates Liberty's windows!

SHOWstudio contributor Helen Bullock has collaborated with Liberty of London to come up with an innovative and eye-catching window display in conjunction with London Fashion Week. True to Bullock's style, the window evokes bold colour, shape and pattern echoing the best of British fashion.

The frantic brush strokes and vibrant colour create an exciting energy which is similar to the illustrations that Bullock produced when she covered the A/W 13 collections for SHOWstudio. Pop to Liberty's and come to 19 Motcomb Street to see Bullock's illustration Night Time Lilac in our Maison Martin Margiela exhibition! Thanks to Claire from Design Devotee for the images!

    Bazar14

I love this brand. It's all i can really say. I'm stunned by the amazing knits mixed with the simple but sport-like silhouette's. Aaron Tubb (the designer of Bazar14) is increidble, he graduated Westmister university in 2013 and went to intern at Givenchy. Now his sports/knit wear label is taking off.

I'll be watching how this young brand grows and I am so excited to see the next few collections!

Thanks Marc for pointing the label out to me.

    Joe Lally's Soap Opera: Episode#4

Have you been following Joe Lally's Soap Opera film series? So far SHOWstudio has launched three episodes playing with ideas of fame, reality and dark humanity, and now it's time for Episode#4 - Auto-Erotic: the Fashion of Marc Jacobs. Explained by Lally simply as 'an erotic exploration of Marc Jacobs' mens fashion, an investigation into the beauty of model Emilio Flores', the short film deals with the same dark sexuality that characterises the filmmaker's work. A new essay on scent and memory by Lee C. Wallick

We're excited to present an essay and collection of interviews by writer Lee C. Wallick, which were created to sit alongside our Maison Martin Margiela's SHOWcabinet exhibition. Written on the subject of scent and memory, Wallick's essay spins an engaging narrative of the relationship between the sense of smell and emotional experiences.

'Scent is our super-power when it comes to memory. It stands alone amongst our senses. Many believe it is our first to develop.'

Wallick also interviews the perfumers who created the Replica fragrances on their own scent memories, further enforcing the deeply personal nature of perfume. Read the engaging essay now!

I agree! Every thing or person has his own unique scent that can bring back the memories of yesterday when smelled even a very little dose of it.

London Fashion Week might be over but the protest isn't

This year, London Fashion Week timed with the Winter Olympics held in Sochi, Russia. SHOWstudio and long-time collaborator Gareth Pugh teamed up with Amnesty international in their fight against the prejudice and violence directed towards the LGBTI community.

Members of the fashion industry - designers, stylists, models, writers, filmmakers and editors alike - showed their opposition to the intolerance by taking part in individual clips that, together as a series, form one united voice - an overwhelming voice that ultimately says, 'Love is a human right.'

We launched on 14 Febuary, aptly Valentines day, and whilst LFW might be over the fight is not. Nick Knight continues to recruite more and more people to stand up for the on-going cause, from Nicola Formichetti to Liberty Ross, and even you: Tweet your own video @SHOWstudio and @AmnestyUK using #proudtoprotest to unify that love is, and always should be, a human right.

    Keep following the protest.

I am Russian. I have many gay friends but this protest is just silly because it is allowed to be gay in our country. The law concerns only gay propaganda to children. I am as a mother have nothing against gay teachers for my children but I do not want them to share their intimate life with my child.
Btw Sochi is the most popular resort among Russian gays cos in Russia gays in 80% have much better life than straight ppl.
Come and see everything by yourself before believing American anti-Russian propaganda!

Omer Asim A/W 14 in film by Jez Tozer!

SHOWstudio are proud to present Put Out the Lights and Call the Law a film by Jez Tozer showcasing Omer Asim's A/W 14 collection!

Kinee Diouf stars as Cynthia in this dramatic, captivating film, which features a performance by The Johnny McCullough Orchestra. The piece nods to the swing era’s buoyant, defiant reaction to the economic disaster of the Great Depression. Diouf's rendition of Cynthia captures a usually austere woman going through a private moment of release while remembering childhood trips to New York and Harlem parties where she saw Frankie Manning and first heard the phrase 'Put out the lights and call the law' as she peered through the bedroom door as the grown-ups danced in the living room.

What's more, you can get your hands on one of Roset's unique depictions of the season, available soon from our SHOWstudio Shop
