The 23rd Hyères International Fashion and Photography Festival are now accepting admissions for their 2008 competition. Due to my rather lax blogging, the application deadline is now just slightly less than a month away, but this still leaves plenty of time for any emerging photographers to enter by downloading a PDF here, and applying before 5th December 2007.
Running in parallel with their fashion design competition, the photography competition’s aim is to push the medium forward – artistically, editorially and commercially – each year producing a different creative synergy. The competition is opened to all practices and genres (landscape, portraiture, fashion, still-life etc.), and criteria for selection are both innovation and originality in style, as well as coherence in intention.
A shortlist of ten young photographers will be selected by a jury of international professional chosen from museums, galleries and magazines, and given the opportunity to display their work to international press and public in a prestigious group exhibition in April 2008, after which prizes are awarded.
