Photographer and filmmaker Jez Tozer has created the latest of our fashion film editorials mapping A/W 2010 through moving image. Taking its inspiration - and title - from the Edgar Allen Poe poem The Raven, Tozer's film is an examination of the darker side of A/W 2010. But that very blackness hints at further depth, an umbrella projected inspired by the elements of the process of alchemy - negredo, albedo, citrinitas and rubedo. Each corresponds to a colour, an emotional state and, in Tozer's project, a season. For A/W 2010 he examines negredo - literally 'the blackening' - and a sense of despair and melancholy, reflected in sombre, sober garb from Yves Saint Laurent, Haider Ackermann, Lanvin and Viktor & Rolf, styled by Karen Binns on model and actress Billie Piper.
