Stationed between her own studio and our brand new Motcomb Street head-quarters, our in house illustrator for London Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2013, Amelie Hegardt, has been hard at work putting pencil to paper and drawing the latest designs to show in the capital.
David Koma's collection of dark, leather panelled dresses were the focus of one of Hegardt's earlier drawings. She chose the shapes and silhouettes of the designs to create simple, elegant suggestions of structure.
Mary Katrantzou's iconinc printed designs were next to fall under the illustrator's watchful gaze. Hegardt highlighted Katrantzou's monochromatic pallette and a new focus on form and structure.
Next up, Scottish designer Jonathan Saunders presented a collection of beautiful, coloured pieces against a back drop of forest green. Hegardt focused on line and form and highlighted the make up choices and hair styling of Saunders' show.
Most recently, Marios Schwab's gothic designs using velvet and chiffon provided a colour pallette and texture for Hegardt to explore. Swathes of water colour and expressive pencil line demonstrated the features of the latest design outing. She's putting her own spin on drawing the collections,by sketching out personal responses to the shows, rather than just reproducing catwalk images!
