Blast from the past!

We just took delivery of the newest addition to the SHOWstudio shop: this Chinoiserie parasol, an archive piece from John Galliano's first advertising campaign for Christian Dior way back when in 1997. As any fashion obsessive worth their salt will remember, this collection (Galliano's first Ready-to-Wear outing for the august label) was inspired, loosely, by Jayne Mansfield taking a trip to the exotic Orient. Accordingly, Nick Knight's photograph of this nifty number - with a cheongsam-clad Shalom Harlow swooning underneath it - was one of the inaugural publicity images of a revitalised Dior and was stretched across many a double-page spread during my own teenage years. What's more, Galliano himself signed the piece in 1997. That's fashion history, right there.

    EXQUISITE COMPOSITION!
If SHOWstudio continues to succesfully add such unique, beautiful and rear objects of FASHION MOMENTS that would certainly make the 'SHOP' the more UNIQUE and the only one of its kind in the entire GALAXY ! :)
