Countdown to Fashion Rocks!

Markus Langes-Swarovski and Nadja Swarovski presenting at the Fashion Rocks Press Conference
Queen Victoria sporting her Worth veils and Swarovski crystals

To start off a very big day for Swarovski, cousins Markus Langes-Swarovski and Nadja Swarovski gave a presentation to contextualise tonight's Fashion Rocks music and fashion jamboree within the company's overall historical legacy. Beginning with the crystals that were used to accent Queen Victoria's veils (designed by the House of Worth), Markus described how Swarovski's collaborations have involved all the key fashion luminaries of the past century. These range from Elsa Schiaparelli and Balenciaga, through to Versace (who have designed a special crystal for tonight) and Christopher Kane. His necklace is pictured above in Nick's portraits of Naomi Campbell, shot to publicise the event, which is to be held in one of Queen Victoria's monuments to her dead husband, The Royal Albert Hall, aptly enough.
