The Marrakech edition of SHOWstudio's series In Your Face: Interviews comes to a close with Stephanie Sigman, the beautiful Mexican actress who stars in Miss Bala, the film tipped to be this years Mexican addition to the Oscars. The movie tells the story of a pretty Mexican girl trying to archive her dream of becoming a beauty contest queen. However, don't be fooled by this stripped down storyline; Miss Bala is set in the middle of a raging war between the Mexican government and the drug cartels, with Stephanie's character unintentionally getting wound up in the ties of organised crime.
With the high amount of films featured at this year's festival that reflect and comment on important social and political issues, it raises the question whether cinema has the power to stimulate social change. Watch Stephanie's interview soon on SHOWstudio.com.
