Fringe Film Fest showcases SHOWstudio fashion films

Today is the official launch of Fringe, the London queer film and arts fest that runs until 14 April and offers screenings, art exhibitions, workshops and parties in East London.

Curated by Konstantinos Melelaou, the festival also casts a look at fashion film, featuring work by many SHOWstudio favorites, including filmmaker Alice Hawkins and SHOWstudio Tumblr guest curator Fia Yaqub. Also screening will be Marie Schuller's Oyster and Ruth Hogben's contribution to SHOWstudio's fashion film series Fashion Body, English. In addition, the screening will showcase Nick Knight's filmic collaboration with Bea Sweet and Simon Foxton Studs, a fashion film portraying 9 subjects who refuse to comply with traditional notions of the sexes.

Many of Fringe's events and screenings including its showcase of fashion film are free, so make sure you check out their programme for all events on offer.

Queer Eye: Fashion Films runs at the Arcola tent in Dalston on Saturday 13 April at 15:45 BST. You can book tickets here
