'GUNBOY' by Toyin

Linking to her ongoing work ‘The Cult of Boys’, Toyin's offering for Political Fashion looks at the modern sexualisation of both the pubescent male and violence. Drawing on the political charge of contemporary images of gun culture, her unsettling film questions the moral behind our current ideas of ‘cool’.

It's all taken from Larry Clark, his work is much better as it features real situations and guns, not fabricated angst with models.

Was you remark intended to enlighten us with you knowledge about photography or do you feel that it is all unfair and/of detrimental to Larry Clark's work ... by Tonyn attempting to put her point of view when using possibly Clark's work as an inspiration ..... regardless how similar her work is or might be to Clark's work ? .... and yet I dare to assume that his work is undoubtedly 'inspired' by real life images that we are used to seeing .....

marko- this is fashion, not documentary!!! and thats what it is about- don't you get it? plus- if we always would compare who's been 'first'- whats Larry's influence? anyways- thats not the point. Toyins film is about fashion and it's contraversity within - think about it.
    ;) !

Toyin, are you trying to make the point that an element of psychological behaviour of anorexic young white males (plus the occasional anorexic female) is that they spend a lot of time playing with toy guns whilst sat in the bath or leaning against walls. When they pull the trigger does a little white flag with the word "BANG" on it, come out of the barrel?

To find it so unsettling on all levels I think it's brilliant! - For Political Fashion, a fashion shoot extreme - and does the trick on every level.
From fame to a fall, despair and discovery, excitement seekers to show stoppers! Anti-fashion, anti-fame.
    and I agree with Lubinus!
