For a magazine monikered 'Love', could there be a better occasion for launch than Valentine's day? Katie Grand evidently reasoned not, as she picked February 14 to unveil the beyond-eagerly awaited inaugural issue of her latest venture, her first magazine under the Conde Nast banner. To celebrate, Katie naturally turned to her friends - and when those friends include Giles Deacon, Henry Holland, Stella McCartney and Miuccia Prada to name but few, you're bound to be on to a winner. Thus, this Valentine's day was a veritable 'Love In' at Dover Street Market, with a pop-up shop of luxury wares inspired by Grand's mag - and displayed on a kinky, latex-wrapped version of Grand's own bed. The wares to accompany were in a suitably boudoir mood: Giles created a monochrome crystal-encrusted bedsheet, Prada and McCartney devised lingerie (his-n-hers studded cotton and hand-embroidered chiffon respectively), while Hollan'd t-shirt featured the Rubenesque form of the first Love covergirl, Beth Ditto. Only available for one week, the Lovbe concession was already doing swift business mere hours into its inception, with Grand's mag set to be equally well-received. As always in fashion's relentless search for the new, the really interesting question in all of these shenanigans is what exactly Katie will do next...?
