Marrakech International Film Festival: Winners announced!
The Marrakech International Film Festival officially came to an end with a beautiful closing ceremony last night to announce this year's winners.
Gloomily leaving behind a week of extraordinary festivities amongst sunny skies in one of the most beautiful cities I ever visited, I was cheered up by boarding the same regional flight with this year's Best Actress Award winner, Joslyn Jensen. I applauded Joslyn stepping onto stage in Dior to pick up her award the previous night, and even now, 10 hours later, she still pulled in some cheers when security scanned her award at Casablanca airport. Joslyn turned out not to be only the best actress but also the nicest girl and most down to earth award winner so it was a well spent hour waiting for our connecting flights.
Here's a full list of the winners at the Marrakech International Film Festival:
JOSLYN JENSEN for the film WITHOUT by Mark Jackson (USA)
BEST MALE PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTOR
DANIEL HENSHALL for the film SNOWTOWN (Les Crimes de Snowtown) by Justin Kurzel (Australia)
JURY PRIZE FOR BEST DIRECTOR
SEVEN ACTS OF MERCY (Sette Opere di misericordia) by Gianluca & Massimiliano De Serio (Italy)
JURY PRIZE
SNOWTOWN (Les Crimes de Snowtown) by Justin Kurzel (Australia)

SHOWstudio's week long coverage of the festival comes to a close. However, stay tuned for the release of our interviews recorded as part of SHOWstudio's series In Your Face: Interviews. Massive Thanks to Marrakech City and The Marrakech International Film Festival for a great week in Morocco.
