McQueen For A Night at New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art

Inspired by Alexander McQueen and the new retrospective exhibition Savage Beauty, New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art hosts a special one-off event, McQueen for a Night. Allowing college students to explore the creative fire behind some of McQueen's most incredible designs - a cross-section of which are on display at the Met itself - the night features films, hands-on activities, and gallery talks and literature readings. In the spirit of McQueen, attendees are encouraged to dress eccentrically and creatively - although, to be honest, competition is rather stiff when placed next to McQueen's gazelle-horn shoulders (A/W 1997), jet-crusted corsets (A/W 1996) and of course the towering armadillo heels showcased as part of the incredible S/S 2010 show Plato's Atlantis.

McQueen for a Night takes place at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, this evening 20 May 2011 from 19:00 EST
