SHOWstudio Shop was very excited this morning to receive a long awaited order of some of Nick Knight's rarest and most beautiful books. It has proved somewhat of a detective mission to acquire these volumes, but now they have arrived we're really delighted to offer them for sale through the website and from our Bruton Place gallery.
The first, Nicknight which was originally published in 1994, reviews Knight's first fifteen years of artistic activity. This truly luxurious volume which is bound in blue velvet suede and designed by Peter Saville, showcases Knight's astounding early portfolio. And to accompany this, we also have his celebrated book Flora, a comprehensively daring volume of wonderfully composed flowers and plants. To create this collection of work, Knight spent three and a half years in the herbarium of the Natural History Museum in London choosing from among the museum’s six million specimens. He then selected 46 of the most visually arresting and captured them with his camera. The resulting compositions are presented in this incredible book in all their beauty. These, as well as his most recent volume Nick Knight from 2009, a visual feast featuring collaborative work with Björk, Gareth Pugh and Massive Attack, and more memorable editorial shoots from Vogue, are all now available direct from SHOWstudio.
