On set with Nick Knight
Yesterday, Nick Knight was conspicuously absent from the studio here at Bruton Place, creating a fashion film for the designer label Kuho to be presented as part of New York Fashion Week. With an A/W 2010 collection inspired by religious vestments peeling away to reveal hidden layers within, Nick and the team turned to sacrosanct dance and ceremonial movement culled from religions the world over to inspire the movements of striking Russian model Ranya Mordanova. Above are two images captured on set, with Ranya styled by Jonathan Kaye in an outfit fusing the fluid drapery of Shinto monks with strict, narrow-shouldered occidental tailoring in firm wool. Of course, this is just a fragment of the final film showcasing the entire Kuho collection - next week, the end results will be showcased for the first time across the pond alongside our own real-time coverage of the New York Collections.
