Explaining the concept behind the piece, Mazhar says:
'The idea was to create something for the chosen one. That sacred person. Something religious but fantasy. That season [A/W 2009] I was looking into gods, warlords, spirits, alchemy, guards, leather work. The collection was presented in a candlelit church off Greek Street in Soho, with operatic religious chanting and characters from the collection curated around the church - almost as a royal religious ceremony.'
