The word regeneration has a number of implications each of which point towards growth, amplification or positive change. In the enormous Tate turbine hall artist Daria Martin created a one hour performance-based scenario which involved a collaboration with experimental electronic harpist Zeena Parkins. Martin created a giant cake slice stage onto which specially selected out-takes from her 2004-05 16 mm film 'Loneliness and the Modern Pentathlon' were projected onto the high gauze walls of the structure. Within this Parkins costumed in a silvery Hamish Morrow dress, created sound from various materials including water and a sheet of soft plastic. Parkins and Martin collaborated previously on the soundtrack for the film 'Loneliness', and this was an attempt to formulate and ambitiously-scaled live amplification of the components for such a creative union.
