Royal College of Art MA Fashion Show 2006

The Royal College of Art's Fashion MA graduate collection was unveiled to the press this afternoon in a particularly packed-out and swelteringly hot catwalk space at the Kensington-based college. Crowd pleasers were definitely Robbie Blundell's collection that was 'modelled' by dancers from the English National Ballet and Denis Antoine's confident collection of personality inspired suits, who used a selection of model 'stereotypes' and a voiceover to reveal their name and character trait. My personal favourites from the twenty-nine strong class were Corinna Godwin, whose beautifully executed black collection (pictured) comprised delicate silk blouses and silk taffeta coats, Ada Wong, whose feminine collection juxtaposed skinny drainpipe trousers against oversized waistbands, and Karin Peterson, whose subtle designs were accessorised with braids of hair that framed the models' faces. Equally impressive was Ko Wei Huang's menswear collection, which employed an interesting colour palette of cream, white, orange and gold and humorously played around with the placement of the bow tie.
