As Friday sees the end of our coquettishly titled - and four-star reviewed - Selling Sex exhibition at SHOWstudio SHOP, we look back on its trajectory.
So often, the images we consume related to sex and the female nude seem to be produced by men. SHOWstudio SHOP decided to flip the coin, and explore this relationship exclusively through the female perspective. From Marianne Maric's sensuous photographs, to the angle-grinder yielding Liz Cohen, we've tried to spark the conversation from all sides. In this arena, even latex finds its place of beauty, after an exquisite live performance with costume pioneer, Atsuko Kudo, showcasing the fetishised fabric.
Though this week is your last opportunity to see the show in person, we will be ending the exhibition with one more collaborative performance. Teaming up with designer Phoebe English, belly-dancing performer Leah Debrincat will give us a visual feast to remember on Wednesday and Thursday of next week - so watch this space.
Selling Sex closes this Friday, 1 June, at 18:00 BST. To catch its last few days visit 1 - 9 Bruton Place, London.
