Today, Friday 31 May, is the final day to come and visit our current exhibition, SHOWcabinet: Prosthetics!
The exhibition, centred around Una Burke's sculptural leather bound pieces, embedded the original understanding of prosthesis at the heart of its curation; 'to add', 'to enhance' or 'to give power to', and as such, the spectacular artworks and artefacts on show all reflect this positive stance on an often negatively perceived subject area.
The cabinet also provided the basis for Prosthetics: Conversations, a series of interviews, discussions and essays that looked critically at some of the themes and objects of the exhibition. Additionally, fashion films Defects and Bound also looked to the recurring themes of the show as a source of inspiration and both offer bold, graphic responses.
Be sure to pay a visit today at 19 Motcomb St, Belgravia, SW1X 8LB. The gallery closes at 18:00 BST
