SHOWstudio presents its work at Sao Paulo Fashion Film Festival

It is very reassuring to fly across the world and meet people who believe in the same ideas as you and work towards the same concepts. This week SHOWstudio ventured out to Brazil to attend Sao Paulo Fashion Film Festival, which was born out of a desire to promote and champion fashion film across South America, discover new talent and help the still somewhat underexposed genre of fashion film gain recognition amongst industry critics and audiences in Brazil.
Initiated by renowned fashion photographer Jacques Dequeker and filmmaker Marcos Mello, supported by Vogue Brazil and hosted by model Isabeli Fontana, celebrations kicked off yesterday at Cinemateca Brasileira with lectures, screenings and art performances. The festival will proceed into its second day later today with musical performances and more screenings of the official selection and competative selection of films.
SPFFF invited SHOWstudio to Sao Paulo for a special presentation and screening, which featured the creme de la creme of recent SHOWstudio productions such as Ruth Hogben's film of Gareth Pugh's S/S11 collection, SHOWstudio's newly released Hatstand, Nick Knight's Dynamic Blooms and his filmic collaboration with LucyandBart Extraordinary Gentlemen.
It is great to meet like minded people and see audiences as far as Brazil excited and ready for fashion film on the big screen. Thanks to SPFFF for the invitation and to the Brazilian people for their warm reception!
Watch out for Nick Knight's piece to camera especially recorded for SPFFF, in which he talks about SHOWstudio's foundations and vision as well as his thoughts on fashion film. Elements of the exclusive interview will launch on SHOWstudio in the near future...
