In this helpful and jovial blog (spot) ICA bookshop manager and writer Russell Heron gets around to many openings and events you didn't make, large and small, around London. In this link he gives a nice description of a recent Martin Creed lecture/performance that sums up the artists' relationship to his audience. Following is Transmissions footage of a similar event held at Tate Britain in December last year. Creed demonstrates his binary style, pitting opposites together in songs, and as a very straightforward method of anaysis: I do like this, I don't like that, or physically - turning the lights on and off. Ultimately he explains that he likes to avoid explanation, and the act of doing or saying is his preferred methodology. See and hear how with 'Words'.
