Stella McCartney: garden party
So 'on trend' she must have been pinching herself, Stella opened with vivid floral prints on light silk -tiered dresses, jumpsuits and romper suits- all before a 'soil-free, vertical garden' created by esteemed French botanist Patrick Blanc. The eveningwear faded to pale: tiered frills were teamed with Tuxedo jackets, wide-legged pants and carved, high, wooden clogs, all in ivory and faded florals, as this film shows. The effect was rather like Lagerfeld's pretty, flouncey dresses for Chlo=C3=A9 in the 70s, though the volumes and hemlines were more modern and identifiably 'Stella'.
