Upon a Leafless Withered Bough

Known for his interest in immaterial and impermanent media such as fire and foam, Roger Hiorns' sculpture often explores material transformation. In 'Glittering Ground' for Camden Arts Centre Hiorns sets up a series of unexpected temporary situations that include an otherwise empty room overlit by a giant central light bulb, and a twist on the idea of 'music in an elevator' in a subtle transformation of the gallery experience. 'Upon a Leafless Withered Bough' is the name of the piece of music chosen but not played.
