WAH Nails comes to Selfridges

Founder Sharmadean Reid

Some of the styles on offer

Opened in August 2008, WAH Nails is a concept nail salon set up by Arena Homme Plus Contributing Editor Sharmadean Reid. Born out of an ongoing passion for nail-art and increasing frustration that she couldn't get the exact kind of 'fashion nails' she desired, Reid took inspiration from the wealth of styles available in America and Japan. Having found a suitable location in East London, she took on a team of qualified technicians and sourced best quality extensions, products and polishes. Having quickly established itself as a destination for fashion-inspired nail art and attracted a loyal customer base (including designer Carri Mundane and Mandi Lennard), WAH Nails is taking residency in Selfridges Beauty Hall between 5 - 11 November. To celebrate the launch of the pop-up shop, Sharmadean and her team invited Dorothy Burns from the SHOWstudio SHOP and I to have sample some WAH nail-art last week, choosing or taking inspiration from 200+ styles including McQueen inspired skulls, Erdem florals or Breton stripes - Dorothy opted for pink and yellow leopard prints and I (a nail art virgin) went for Celine-inspired shades.

WAH Nails at Selfridges until 11 November, for appointments email wahnails@selfridges.co.uk.
