Elliott James Sainsbury's contribution to our Fashion Body essay series examines just that idea - fashioning a new body, through miracles of cosmetic surgery. Extrapolating on from the now almost-standard rhinoplasty, breast augmentation and lunch-hour botox into extreme body modification (think artificial eyes and animated tattoos), Sainsbury argues that it is fashion as much as surgery that is pushing the human body ever further from nature.
