An element of competition was bound to develop as fashion continues to migrate online. But given the strength of the competition all of us at SHOWstudio are thrilled to have been crowned the best online media website by WWD Japan as part of their 2012 Fashion Web Awards. WWD Japan has been producing fashion content since 1979 and, in 2011, launched the Fashion Web Awards to recognise successful web-based communication and acknowledge pioneering achievements in online media. The award presented to SHOWstudio was due, in a large part, to the new approaches we used to cover last year's S/S 13 womenswear collections, including our pioneering panel discussions, live broadcasting and social media feeds. We are very grateful to be recognised for our efforts and look forward to continuing to push the boundaries of online fashion commentary for many more seasons!
