You may remember a blog entry in May, referring to a forthcoming project on the legendary fashion photographer Erwin Blumenfeld's unseen film footage. Work on this is gathering pace, with Adam Mufti busily crafting the edit. We are also delighted to announce that composer (and SHOWstudio darling) Olivier Alary has agreed to create an original score to compliment the beautiful imagery.
It was my turn today to interview Blumenfeld's son, the writer Yorick Blumenfeld, at The Charlotte Street Hotel about this little-known aspect of his father's career. Though he claims not to be an old hand, Yorick proved himself to be a bit of a one-take-wonder on camera, as well as being incredibly insightful about his father's attitude to commercial image-making and hopes for fashion film. Little editing needs to be done to Yorick's interview, therefore, in advance of the project's launch at the start of next month.
