Designer for Cerruti, Jesper Borjesson, designed a collection wholly based on commercial clothes. What fashion shows should be rooted in perhaps, but the collection although cohesive lacked any invention or distinct signature style. Inspired by the photographs of Bob Richardson the collection was formed around refined tailoring. The shapes were strong and were delivered best in light summer fabrics and in colours of greys, creams and navys. Straight cut suits, blouson jackets and parkas were well conceived and presented as a realistic contemporary solution for summer 2011. Overall the garments were accomplished and cohesive as a whole collection and could walk directly off the catwalk and into a gentlemans wardrobe. However if Cerruti wants to re-establish itself as a fashion forward brand, then its presentations need to be braver and its clothes designed with more conviction.
