Rei Kawakubo manages to present clothes with such beautiful grace that viewers feel they are privy to a beautiful shared moment. For next winter Comme des Garcons will be offering gentlemen a fine and decadent wardrobe consisting of elongated tuxedos, loose pajamas and silk jackets. A luxurious disheveled aesthetic, Kawakubo mixed layers of printed and embroidered fabric with soft tailoring that felt worn in and cherished. With adolescent and androgynous boys as models, and all wearing jaunty curly wigs, the designer created a charming and eloquent story for next winter. A unique vision that maybe far away from the current suit genre in menswear, Kawakubo's apparition does feel perfectly pitched.
