Stephanie LaCava reports on the Damir Doma show
Some might see nods to Haider Ackermann or Anne Demeulemeester, though look closely and Doma's is a unique young point of view perhaps more akin to early Yohji Yamamoto or Issey Miyake.
Croatian born cult menswear designer Damir Doma's S/S 2013 women's collection evolved his signature cocoon shapes and those cool long shorts with shots of color (aquamarine! burnt orange!) and new fabrics, like coated jersey. There were large utilitarian pockets at the back of a jacket, an obi- style belt and the striking use of a halter harness as suspenders. Also of note were the silver heeled sandals, a collaboration with Doma's jewelry designer sister, Dorotea. Some might see nods to Haider Ackermann or Anne Demeulemeester, though look closely and Doma's is a unique young point of view perhaps more akin to early Yohji Yamamoto or Issey Miyake.
