Diane von Furstenberg's collection was all about the gentlewoman, a lady with teased, upswept hair and clutch in hand. She favors ice cream pastels mixed with neutrals, like a mint man tailored shirt with linen jacket and pale tangerine pants or mismatched pajama prints with an Asian bent. Pockets are also essential, perhaps because it's difficult to fit everything into that clutch. When she's not wearing a dress--and she has many of these from cocoon shifts to kimono-style wraps--it's all about layered, loose color blocked separates, some which call to mind 90s Calvin. Within her spring wardrobe, there's no shortage of signature pattern, from bold construction paper colored cut-out flowers to fragile cherry blossoms, though the best looks may just be those in solids. She loves a loose pale green tank paired with an iridescent sheer-trimmed cream skirt and a crisp white collared wrap dress. "New beginnings," may have been the starting point for the collection, but this doesn't mean the von Furstenberg girl doesn't appreciate classics.
