Kris Van Assche has had a turbulent ride at Dior Homme. Following the huge success of Hedi Slimane, was always going to be a tough job, but Van Assche has remained focused and has slowly found his feet by designing well conceived clothes that have commercial appeal as well as an design edge. This season was a pure and elegant presentation with clothes that celebrated cut and draping. Clinical and subdued the clothes were beautifully cut and modern in a palette of black, white and grey. Tunics, suits and super slim shirts all flowed away from the body and presented a hyper youthful aesthetic. This collection was pure in its vision and confident in its direction - an excellent realisation by Van Assche.
