Dunhill's creative director Kim Jones is clearly content with his role at the British heritage label. The autumn winter collection showed a new confidence for Jones who is establishing a distinct and modern luxury concept for Dunhill. As a catalyst for the collection, Jones referenced Clement Court, the travelling entrepreneur who established Dunhill's French business in the twenties and took the brand global, establishing its association with high quality clothing. What followed was a beautifully refined collection that focused on a contemporary and masculine wardrobe for travel, business and leisure. Inherently British, Jones ensured each classic garment - slim suit, over coat, parka, bomber jacket and blazer were all calm, subtle and effortlessly put together. Trousers were tucked into hiking socks, clevery preventing the collection appearing too pristine and serious and adding a fresh edge to the presentation. With a selection of travelling accessories and wallets dangling from trouser waist bands, Jones is smartly broadening the appeal of Dunhill's menswear. The distinctively wearable and contemporary proposal from Jones suggests an exciting future for Dunhill.
