Working with artist Ethan Cook, Long created textural prints that were inspired by a visit to Woodstock.
James Long presented another distinct and laid back collection in which he continued to explore fabric through a psychedelic haze. Entitled ‘They Died Too Young,’ denim, leather, and knitted patchwork were worked by Anderson who sought solace in the images of Midnight Cowboy and My Own Private Idaho. Conveying free-spirited individuals that define conflict in youth, Long’s collection was steeped in nostalgia.
Working with artist Ethan Cook, Long created textural prints that were inspired by a visit to Woodstock. Loose knits and psychedelic dip-dye shirts presented a colourful and informal approach and Long’s knitwear, which has long been his design signature, was further disheveled, frayed and dip-dyed, Textural mis-matching fabrics and contrasting patterns were a strong foundation for the garments while denim bought a contemporary sense of reality. A well-executed and compact collection, confirming Long’s position as a name to watch in the future.
