Galliano then transformed Holmes into his alternative psyche - a Thai bare knuckle fighter.
After launching his menswear diffusion line 'Galliano' in Milan, it was left to the mainline John Galliano collection to provide the spectacle in Paris. For his autumn winter collection, Galliano looked to Sherlock Holmes for inspiration. A life size spy glass flanked the set as models posed through the lens before stalking the runway. Military and hunting clothing provided a wardrobe for Galliano's Holmes as traditional outer wear was updated with technical fabrics. Masculine sharp suits came in moss, grew and scarlet. Galliano then transformed Holmes into his alternative psyche - a Thai bare knuckle fighter. Laced up in fleeced jersey and fighting fit, models donned a sporting wardrobe embellished with dragons and flames. Finally Sherlock Holmes is visualised in an opium den, dishevelled and dressed elegantly for a night of debauchery. Another entertaining presentation, with some brilliant clothes, from the master story teller. Galliano took his triumphant bow through a blaze of fire that burnt bright over the original show man of Paris menswear.
