Lavin designer Lucas Ossendrijver, under the direction of Alber Elbaz has made the brand one of the most successful contemporary menswear labels. With a signature aesthetic of fusing sportswear and formal tailoring, Lanvin has become a significant indication of modern luxury. The clothes have a specific tactile quality that customers will pay high prices in acknowledgment of the distinctive quality. For next summer Lanvin's sporty elegance was again the story and this time the silhouette remained slim with a dark palette of black, highlighted briefly with a colbat blue suit and yellow trousers. Classic Lanvin garments, including a sloucy jacket, parka and blouson were transformed in plush fabrics and left with raw edges. Jewelery was dramatic and added a feminine decorative edge to the otherwise sport focused collection. Lanvin succeeds yet again in creating innovate clothes that exsist in a specific genre between being commercial and wearable and also distinctive and unique. Energetic clothes that effectively reflects the best of modern menswear.
