Recent Central Saint Martins graduate Lee Roach presented his spring collection at the lavish Carlton Gardens. Roach’s aesthetic continues to explore traditional and distinctive menswear elements merged with his personal approach to minimalism.
Roach creates garments that eliminate superfluous components and this latest offering remained rooted in a strict palette of black, white and silver. The restraint evident in clothes shows confidence by the designer, despite feeling somewhat out of sync with the current maximalist zeitgeist evident elsewhere on the London catwalks.
However the acute accuracy of Roach’s clothes is covetable and his minimalist approach is refreshing – ultimately a well executed and sensitively balanced collection.
