Often the highlight of Paris, Simons’s show is perceived as the instigator of future change in menswear.  So when the models were transported mechanically down a escalator the congregation sat up for the arrival of slick mercenaries. With their high gloss hair and emotionless poise, Simons delivered a sharp and acutely confident collection.

Super-slim trousers styled with oversized angular coats were the main narrative as Simons toyed with concepts of minimalism, colour and pattern. Lightweight plaid overcoats, sleeveless leather tops and graphic floral prints challenged colour and print perceptions that are currently invading menswear.

With a persistently youthful focus, Simon’s precision elegance is enticing to watch and his self-assured presentations are absorbing. The austere collection will sustain Simons’s reputation, as his judgments in proportion and silhouette consistently hits the right tone.
