After Browne's Horse and Hound hunting extravaganza in Milan for Moncler Gamme Bleu, the expectation for Browne's own show was high. For his Autumn/Winter collection the designer opted for another spectacular presentation in the form of a formal dinner for his elaborately dressed muses. Inspired by aristocrats from eighteenth century America, Browne referenced colonial days where voluminous coats were layered over checked breeches and blazers were worn in multiples. Puffed sleeves and sweeping trains added to the dramatic affair that at times became more about theatrical costume than real clothes. However stripping back the fanfare there were realistic high button jackets, signature cropped trousers and elegant frock coats. Layering textures was a key element to the collection as mohair, wool and shearling signalled a move towards a more decadent Thom Browne.
