What the presentation lacked in new ideas or solutions, it made up for in approachability and a casual sense of total wearability.
Summer clothes carefully constructed in polite tonal hues were not revolutionary for U-NI-TY this season. Taking relaxed tailoring as the mantra the designer sent out a variety of worn in and casual ideas that flowed effectively but did not grab any attention. Crumpled fabrics formed single breasted jackets and fitted shorts while artisan scarves were tied around the model's necks. A more successful idea involved a collage of fabrics worked into a waist coat and tailored jacket, and a circular print in navy and cream could have been utilised further. A long shirt worn under a short fitted suit looked modern and perhaps more contrasts in tones would have elevated the collection. What the presentation lacked in new ideas or solutions, it made up for in approachability and a casual sense of total wearability.
