It is sometimes difficult to comprehend why Viktor & Rolf's menswear is so different in approach to their womenswear collections. The design duo choose to ground their menswear firmly in tradition and opt for surreal elements and details to add interest. This collection started from the idea of a suit and explored how classic garments can work in both a formal and casual context. The first outfit a grey sweat top and matches pants established the laid back approach that governed the show. While there were lots of commercially sound garments, including a shiny bomber jacket and a red cord suit, there was a lack of visionary direction. Clearly the Viktor & Rolf man and woman are very different people and poles apart in their design identities - perhaps if they were brought closer together the story would become clearer.
