The over-commercialisation of logos and trademarks was a deeper message that ran through Beirendonck's thinking for the collection
Big chunky Bears were the story at Beirendonck's spring / summer collection. Not the mammal variety but hairy human types that modelled for the Belgium designer. The 'Wonder Bears' as their logo emblazoned sweat shirts defined, were kitted out in baggy pastel street inspired gear. The over-commercialisation of logos and trademarks was a deeper message that ran through Beirendonck's thinking for the collection, but this did not impact on the witty presentation. Quilted and sparkly jackets, cargo pants and jumpsuits were in Beirendonck's usual technicolor finery. Shiny ponchos and fluorescent trainers completed the casual ensembles. Beirendonck's collections also merge a message with dynamic clothes. And for the finale, the hairy bears paraded in their WVB briefs! I wonder why.
