Showing in the luxe surroundings of Hotel Intercontinetal's Le Grand, Korean designer Wooyoungmi titled her collection, "Silent Era". With a live brass band providing the soundtrack, the designer referenced Charlie Chaplin and his associated styles. Thankfully, not a literal interpretation of baggy trousers and bowler hats, this was an individual take on the current slouchy silhouette. Layering, seen throughout Paris, was explored by Wooyoungmi through a variety of rich textures and heavy fabrics. A petrol, belted coat was sharp and cream trousers were refreshing in a dominant palette of grey, black and blue. Thick wedged soles on shoes added a tough edge to the collection and ensured the classic aesthetic was updated. Overall a succinct and clear collection that adhered to the current mood in Paris - one of contrasts, slouchy silhouettes and heavy textures.
