It may have been a mirage brought on by fashion show overload, but it looked like the models at Y3 were smiling a little bigger because they were walking a little lighter in an assortment of high concept *flats*. There were Union Jack wrestling boots, hot fuschia sneakers, even alien hybrid ice skate-trainers, and those were just the shoes. Black tulle flowers dangled around one girl's ankles while another wore long, fingerless gloves. As for the clothes, the collection was rife with nods to Japanese style, asymmetrical ruffles, bloomers, protruding plaid tulle puffs, grey sweatshirt paired with red tartan, a men's checkerboard suit and half-kilt half-pant looks. A red cheongsam cropped up in the mix as did a Nehru collar top and green safari set, further evidence that sporty doesn't mean a lack of surprises.
