As the moustached models jostled on the on the runway, classic Yohji, ankle-length knitted coats, military coats and boiler suits with tromp l’oeil suiting showcased the designers cutting expertise and over-sized shapes
Kilts made a statement courtesy of Yohji Yamamoto to the wail of bagpipes, as the designer set his sight on a Scottish Highlands occasion. Models sporting faux beards and other facial hair topiary sported Yamamoto's take on the kilt with signature ties, hats and long flowing woollens.
As the moustached models jostled on the on the runway, classic Yohji, ankle-length knitted coats, military coats and boiler suits with tromp l’oeil suiting showcased the designers cutting expertise and over-sized shapes. Double-breasted jackets with an Edwardian elegance gave the proceeding a revitalising flamboyancy.
German photographer August Sander was the inspiration for Yamamoto’s collection and the offering was confident and refreshingly optimistic.
